The story of Kingdom Gospel Mission (Inc.) is inseparably connected with the life and calling of Pastor John Babafemi Aladega, a servant of God whose vision centred on the expansion of God's Kingdom and the spiritual growth of His people.
According to the official history of Kingdom Gospel Mission, the work began following a revelation of the Holy Spirit to Pastor Aladega concerning the importance of expanding the Kingdom of God among the nations. What started as a Gospel Musical Band later developed into Bible Study, then Fellowship, and eventually became Kingdom Gospel Mission.
From Music to a Kingdom Mission
The beginnings of Kingdom Gospel Mission reveal something significant about Pastor Aladega's ministry: the Gospel was the focus from the beginning.
Music was not simply entertainment. It became a means of communicating Christ and bringing people together around the message of God's Kingdom.
As the work developed, Bible study became increasingly important. Fellowship followed, and over time a structured Mission emerged.

A Connection With Mama Ruth Elton
Pastor Aladega's ministry also existed within a remarkable Christian heritage in Ilesa.
One particularly significant connection was with missionary Mama Ruth Elton, daughter of the influential missionary Pa S. G. Elton.
At the celebration of Mama Ruth's 80th birthday, The Nation recorded Pastor J. B. Aladega of Kingdom Gospel Mission paying tribute to her. He described her as a great blessing to her generation and specifically highlighted her sacrificial life and dedication to Kingdom work.
That testimony is particularly meaningful because the same themes—Kingdom, mission, sacrifice and discipleship—are deeply embedded in the history and purpose of Kingdom Gospel Mission.
A Legacy That Continues
The impact of a servant of God is not measured only by what happened during his lifetime.
